Kate is Registered!
And just like that, the number of registered Architects* that are women (a sad 30%) has increased.
We have had cake, coffees, clapped + stamped our feet, sent flowers and now it’s time to make some virtual noise to celebrate our Kate De Pina 🎉🎉🎉.
Kate joined us as a student in 2018, in our backyard studio complete with breastfeeding babe and cloth nappies drying in the sun. She has steadily and staunchly been instrumental in almost every project we’ve delivered since then (as well as several studio moves!) Our clients and their communities benefit from her exceptional eye, fastidious attention to detail and sunny disposition.
A great road trip companion (Phil rates her driving skills, that’s rare), Kate’s been all over the state for us and our clients - her fingerprints are all over our Meeniyan hub, just shortlisted for the Community + Public Architecture Prize in the ArchiTeam awards.
Congratulations Kate - here’s to the next 8 years!
*Registration is the last formal step in a long (usually 10+ year) journey to professional accreditation as an Architect and the stats for women get even worse beyond this career stage.
