We are looking for a good thinker, with a good eye, someone comfortable with change (things change rapidly and often), self-aware and positive to join our tight-knit team, based in Footscray on a part-time basis.
Public Realm Lab is a consulting (this means we ask a lot of questions before we design) architecture practice that exists to enrich public (this is who we ask questions of) life. We help mission-driven organisations (find out what this means) develop public places that foster social connection and reduce inequality. We are currently delivering civic projects, and working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations on health and housing projects. We regularly collaborate with larger practices, artists and research partners. We are consistently recognised by our peers for innovation and contributing to the wellbeing and diversity of communities.
This is an opportunity to:
Be part of a practice that provides consulting, research and advisory services – amplifying the impact of design thinking and ‘moving up the food-chain’ with clients who are changing lives. We create masterplans, frameworks, strategies, advocacy collateral, Business Cases, assessment tools, as well as built form. We spend a lot of our time working to understand the why, the what, and the who of the questions being asked. We start with Strategy, work our way through Culture before we start on Place. (We don’t start with design, we end there)
You will be expected to support our Architects and Directors by independently working on:
Research, analysis and presenting your findings in clear, concise, graphic ways,
3-d modelling, preparing diagrams, renders, images and documents
Project management and delivery including presentations, documentation and admin

ArchiCAD experience preferred but not required. Formal and informal training will be provided.
Salary commensurate with capability.
