Hearing Architecture Interview

If you’d been listening to 4zzz community radio at 2 am in 1999 (and WHY wouldn’t you have been?!?) you would have heard my bestie and I nattering on about all the things that mattered to us as 16 year olds. There’s a weird intimacy to radio (or podcasts) - particularly when most folk are asleep! Thankfully there are no records of those graveyard shifts, but my recent long form interview with the Australian Institute of Architects on Hearing Architecture reminded me of that time (and perhaps shows I am still prone to a rant!)

Listen up for my thoughts on:

  • designing your own career and being strategic about grants & opportunities for research & reflection

  • How this work doesn’t need to stop when you’re (happily) tethered by babies & a small practice

  • How frustrations can be channeled into new services, new ways of practicing & co-creating value with communities
