Natural High: expert panel discussion on hemp

Our Co-Founder Anna Maskiell was recently deep in a conversation that could have continued for HOURS. The topic was hemp architecture. The setting was Collingwood Yards. Her co-panellists were Alastair Flynn, Associate Principal at Woods Bagot and project leader of the UTas Forestry Building project, and Dr Rachel Goldlust, sustainable building design consultant and renewables and energy efficiency specialist. Though they brought unique insights from their respective fields and experience, they were DEFINITELY singing from the same hemp-positive hymn book...

The angles touched on speak to its incredibly diverse benefits: carbon sequestration, acoustics, insulation, biophilia, farming, beauty, bioregional skills, trauma-informed design… the list goes on.

All of this wrapped up in a material that we at PRL are working with more and more. Our hemp design and construction knowledge is growing with every project, and we are heartened to see the interest amongst the community. The hemp revolution has well and truly begun!
